The WVU Mountaineer Parents Club was created in 1995 as one of five student life initiatives of former WVU President David C. Hardesty Jr. The organization, which has more than 20,000 members, was established to foster success by connecting parents and family members with the West Virginia University student experience.

West Virginia University’s Mountaineer Parents Club is free and open to parents and family members of current, former and future WVU students. To join just sign-up online.

The Jersey Shore WVU Mountaineer Parents Club was established in 2014 through the help and guidance of the Southern NJ Parents Club.  It is our mission to connect families with the West Virginia University student experience through our annual Summer Send Off event, Facebook page, and this website page.  We understand that this is a new and exciting stage in your families' lives and it is our hope that we can quell some of the fear and anxiety that you or your student may have as they embark on this new adventure.  We will provide tips, tricks and information that we hope will make the transition easier for the whole family.  In conjunction with the Southern NJ and Delaware Parents Clubs we offer round-trip bus service to get students to and from WVU at a reasonable cost for breaks.

Summer Send Off

The 2017 Summer Send Off event was held in the Executive Conference Center at First Energy Park, home of the Lakewood BlueClaws (a minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies).  We had Troy Clemons, the Mountaineer,  Blake Humphrey, Student Body President and a surprise visit via facetime with University President E. Gordon Gee.  Along with getting a wealth of local Morgantown information, new students had the chance to win a $200 textbook scholarship to the WVU Bookstore, two $50 Jersey Shore Chapter WVU Alumni scholarships, and some great giveaways.  Everyone left with something nice.  Thank you to Jenkinson's Boardwalk, Rt 34 Landscape Supply, Jeff Moores, The Mountaineer Maniacs,  the Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the WVU Mountaineer Parents Club for the donations.
